Earth Day Tribute to Olmsted & Clark - Volunteer Session

  • Stonehurst 100 Robert Treat Paine Drive Waltham, MA, 02452 United States (map)

Celebrate Earth Day by helping reestablish the Olmsted-designed grounds at Stonehurst. This volunteer work session is in tribute to both Stonehurst's landscape architect F.L. Olmsted and its long-time head gardener, Walter Clark. Help maintain Olmsted’s vision for the land while unearthing the lost entrance to the carriage road connection to Clark's gardener cottage in the dell between the south and west fields. Meet on the south terrace at 9:30.  Please wear sunscreen, long pants, socks and closed shoes, and bring your gloves and loppers!

Rain date Friday, April 29, 9:30-11:30 am

Thank you to the Waltham Land Trust and Waltham Historical Society for help spreading the word!
