Every June the Paines opened their country house to students young and old learning their trade in industrial schools founded and run by Mr. Paine. Field days were fun breaks from their studies in the building trades and home economics offering exceptional learning opportunities not available in the classroom. On this special guided tour, experience the house and grounds as 19th-century students may have on a field day at the home of their wealthy and generous benefactors.
